About Us

VOICE OF THE PROFESSIONALS In Ireland

The Agricultural Science Association (ASA) is dedicated to enhancing the professional interests of all graduates in agriculture, food, forestry, horticulture and the environmental sciences.

Founded in 1942, the ASA is recognised by the government as a negotiating body. Our members, working in every aspect of agriculture, horticulture, forestry, food and rural development, have a proud record in policy development and in ensuring that our expertise is utilised fully in the national interest.

A GLOBAL BODY
The ASA is unique in bringing together professionals involved in every aspect of Irish life. Our members are employed in government departments, research, advisory and consultancy work, universities, secondary schools, agricultural and horticultural colleges. In the business sphere, we have members at all levels of food and drink production, agri-inputs, banking, taxation, stock broking, property sales, advertising, marketing, farming and rural organisations, public relations and journalism.
