ASA President, Dr Dermot Ruane, is to chair a seminar examining issues associated with genetically modified crop technology in Irish Agriculture. Hosted by the Rural Economy Research Centre, Teagasc in association with the Agricultural Economics Society of Ireland and the ASA, the seminar will take place on Monday 23rd April in Teagasc Kinsealy from 1.30pm to 4.00pm.
A panel of experts will address the regulatory issues relating to GM crop technology, the coexistence of GM and non-GM crops, recent findings from GM crop research in Teagasc, and an evaluation of the economic case for Ireland remaining GM free.
