AURIVO ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF SUSTAINABILITY MANAGER FOR DAIRY BUSINESS AS PART OF AMBITIOUS GROWTH STRATEGY
Aurivo, the globally-focused Agribusiness which is headquartered in the North West of Ireland, has announced the appointment of Dr. Roberta McDonald to the position of Sustainability Manager for the company’s dairy businesses.
A newly-created role, Roberta will be responsible for developing and implementing Aurivo’s new sustainability strategy across several areas of the business, including Aurivo Consumer Foods, Aurivo Dairy Ingredients and My Goodness Ltd.
Aurivo is already a verified member of Bord Bia’s Origin Green programme, with ambitious targets across raw material sourcing, manufacturing processes and social sustainability.
Sustainability is a key focus of Aurivo’s recently launched 5-year growth plan, Engage 2022, which aims to add value and deliver growth for its members. The ambitious strategy aims to increase shareholder funds in Aurivo by 45 percent to €89m by 2022.
Hailing from Ballycumber, Co. Offaly, Roberta joined Aurivo in 2013 to launch and manage the Farm Profitability Programme.
The position of Farm Profitability Programme Manager will be taken up by Dr. Vincent Griffith, who joined Aurivo in 2014 as Farm Profitability Programme Specialist. A native of Claremorris, Co. Mayo, Vincent will focus on further driving the progress made to date and broadening the programme to include beef and sheep enterprises across the region.

Both bring an impressive wealth of expertise, which I am confident will deliver for Aurivo’s growth strategy and in doing so, respect the environment and support local communities and suppliers more effectively.
After graduating from UCD, Roberta completed a PhD (2013) from UCD and Teagasc Moorepark. In 2016 Roberta was awarded a Nuffield scholarship, studying the topic: Innovative Disruption of Farmer Development Programmes. Roberta is a Council member of the Agricultural Science Association, board member for Nuffield Ireland and member of the Ceres Network
