Sales Manager UK

Our client is an authorized distributor of mainly specialist ingredients to the Animal Nutrition, Food and Pharma industries in the UK and Ireland. They represent a number of international companies for their range of products. Their inhouse product experts actively support their clients to select the right ingredients for the products they wish to produce. With a strong emphasis on supplying quality ingredients to their customers, they have achieved GMP+ and ISO accreditation. They are part of a larger global group of over 600 employees delivering into 52 countries.
The Role
Based in the UK you will focus on the supply of specialist raw materials and feed additives to the B2B sector of the animal nutrition industry. Working through the group’s various subsidiaries, you will add value by supplying ingredients, knowledge and solutions to clients. You will drive the profitability and increase sales in line with agreed budgetary expectations throughout the region. You will be a member of the overall Group Sales Team and manage the business relationships with their Principals regarding the sales of their products into your territory.
Key areas of responsibility include: deliver budgeted sales and profitability in the UK market; build and maintain supplier and customer relationships; fully follow reporting procedures and complete CRM parameters in order to closely monitor and control the business; work closely with the Sales Director and members of the team, both locally and at European level, to achieve agreed strategies; be fully responsible for all customer contact, business development and the sales process in this region; bring solutions to customers through your technical skills and commercial expertise.
You will be expected to have a thorough understanding of the B2B Animal Nutrition Market in this region, across all species sectors, and be well networked in these areas. Strong commercial acumen, with experience of successfully developing and implementing innovative sales strategies will also be a requirement along with a proven track record of success in selling specialist feed additives/ ingredients. A minimum of 3-5 years` experience in technical sales of animal nutrition products with key B2B account management experience would be the expectation.
B.Agr.Sc/Nutritional qualification or equivalent required to degree level.
Remuneration: a competitive salary package, in line with your experience and skills, including a company car, laptop & mobile phone. Additionally, an attractive bonus system is on offer, together with benefits in health and pension. You will be expected to base yourself fulltime in the UK. There is full flexibility with respect to your location. Head Office is in the Southeast of England and you will be required to attend sales and other meetings there on a scheduled basis.
