ASA – Retired Members Tour

Location: National Botanic Gardens Glasnevin, Dublin

Time: 10.00am – 4.00pm (approx)

Tour Cost: €30 per person (includes both tours, entrance fee to Museum and lunch)

We are delighted to announce details of the ASA retired member’s tour 2018. This year the tour will take place on Monday, 2nd July and all retired members and their partners are welcome. This year we will enjoy guided private tours at:

10.00 Meet at Glasnevin Cemetery Museum – self-guided tour of Museum if desired

11.00 Glasnevin Cemetery “Dead Interesting” Tour – Learn of its sculpture, symbolism, architecture, art, sporting heroes, natural life and much more. With lesser known stories of extraordinary lives and extraordinary events this is a tour that is for both the well acquainted with the cemetery and those who have never visited before, the secret history of Ireland’s most well known cemetery.

12.30 Lunch at The Washerwoman Restaurant

14.30 National Botanic Gardens of Ireland Tour –  The National Botanic Gardens have over 300 endangered species from around the world, and six species already extinct in the wild within their living collections.  The National Botanic Gardens is famous for its beautifully restored and planted glasshouses.  The Turner Curvilinear Range and the Great Palm House are both recipients of the Europa Nostra Award for excellence in conservation architecture.


Parking will be available at the National Botanic Gardens for a fee and the Cemetery is within easy walking distance.
The Group will walk between each of the locations.
