George Ramsbottom is a dairy specialist with Teagasc and is currently serving as the President of the Agricultural Science Association. George joined Teagasc in 1993 and previously worked as dairy adviser and public relations officer for the organisation.

He graduated from UCD in 1990 with a first class honours B.Agr.Sc. degree and was the recipient of the McGuckian gold medal. He completed a M.Agr.Sc in agricultural extension in 1992, a M.An.Sc. degree in 1997 and a PhD in agricultural systems in 2020.

His work in Teagasc centres on the extension of dairy cattle genetic improvement and delivery of soft skills training programmes to advisers and consultants.
