Prof. Laurence Shalloo was appointed Head of Animal and Grassland Research and Innovation in Teagasc in March 2022 which includes Teagasc’s research and development programme across sheep, pigs, beef and dairy in the research areas of grassland, livestock systems and animal bioscience.

The overall focus of the programme is to increase sustainability and efficiency of the production systems across enterprise area in order to enhance and sustain the family farming model of Irish production systems. Laurence is Deputy Director of the SFI/DAFM-funded VistaMilk Research Centre.
