Prof. Tommy Boland

Prof. Tommy Boland, Associate Dean for Research, Innovation and Impact, School of Agriculture and Food Science, University College Dublin. Tommy’s research interest is in the area of sustainable livestock production systems. He is the past president of the Agricultural Science Association.

Tommy is a member of the EU expert group on Enteric Methane Emissions and is Secretary of the Livestock Farming Systems Commission of the European Association of Animal Production.

Tommy is Co-chair of the Livestock Research Group of the Global Research Alliance and he leads the Climate Neutral Animal Agriculture Challenge in BiOrbic SFI research Centre. Tommy has published in excess of 150 peer reviewed papers, and sits on numerous national and international steering groups and expert committees.
