William Minchin was appointed the CEO of the Agricultural Trust in 2023. The company is based in the Farm Centre and responsible for the Irish Farmers’ Journal, Irish Country Living, Irish Field and Irish Garden publications. Prior to this appointment he was Ruminant Business Unit Director of MSD Animal Health.
He is from Leighlinbridge, Co. Carlow and grew up on a small, part-time beef farm. William graduated from University College Dublin in 2005 with a degree in Agricultural Science. After completing a PhD in animal science at Teagasc Moorepark in 2008, he spent two years working as a research scientist at Teagasc Grange, where his work focused on beef production systems.
He spent four years as livestock product manager with Zoetis before joining MSD Animal Health as the Marketing Manager. William is also a former council member of the Agricultural Science Association and current board member of Ag Tech Ireland.
