Confirmed Flights:

Monday 18th May 2026- Aer Lingus flight EI 117: Depart Dublin at 12.35pm - Arrive Washington Dulles at 15.45 at a cost of €466.04 (smart fare price).

Thursday 21st May 2026 - Aer Lingus Flight EI 118: Depart Washington Dulles at 20.40 - Arrive in Dublin Friday 22nd May 2026 at 08.40am at a cost of €503.81 (smart fare price).

Hotel:

The hotel we will be staying in is the Dupont Circle (1500 New Hampshire Avenue NW, Washington DC, 20036, USA). The cost of the hotel is $325.00 per night plus taxes (€281.79 per night plus taxes) - Total for the 3 nights hotel stay will be $325.00 x 3 = $975.00 plus taxes (Total for 3 nights: €846.11 plus taxes).

There is an option for attendees to share rooms if they wish to do so. The cost to share a room will be as follows: $355 per night plus taxes (€308.00 per night plus taxes) The total for the 3 nights is $355.00 x 3 = $1065.00 plus taxes (€924.21 plus taxes). If you are sharing, this total will be divided by 2 so it will be $532.50 plus taxes (€462.26 plus taxes).

The hotel can be paid on arrival.

Itinerary:

In terms of itinerary, it is hoped that we can visit some of the following places, USDA, Congress, possible visit to USTR, the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture, visit with DC based Trade Associations such as National Cattlemens Beef Association, National Milk Producers Federation and the American Farm Bureau Federation. We will certainly visit with the Irish Embassy. It is hoped a farm visit will be part of the trip also.

ESTA:
It is up to the attendee to arrange ESTA visa waiver that might be required. The ASA will not be taking responsibility for this.

Insurance:
It is up to each attendee to arrange their own travel insurance. The ASA will not be taking responsibility for this.

Transport:
The transport for the 4 days while you are in Washington is an estimated cost of €230.00. This may vary slightly based on numbers. That includes collection form Dulles Airport on Monday and dropping to the hotel, any transport you will be needing on Tuesday and Wednesday, transport to the farm visit on Thursday and dropping to the airport on Thursday evening for your turn flight that evening.

Meals:

Breakfast: In terms of food costs, breakfast will cost approx. $30 dollars in hotel, whereas the Starbucks across the road will be cheaper at $10. We will leave the breakfast choice up to you each morning.

Lunch: Lunch will be on the go each day and will depend on where you are at lunchtime. Lunch will be at your own cost.

Dinner: We will organise collective dinners on each of the evenings. Dinner is estimated to cost €85 per person per evening with a total of €255.00 per person.
Next Steps:

We are asking anyone who is interested in join the trip to book their flights. Once your flight is booked and have sent us confirmation of your booked flights, we are asking you to pay €485 to cover the estimated cost of the transport and the evening meals while you are over there.

There may need to be a balancing payment, plus or minus, following the conclusion of the trip. It is difficult to precisely determine total costs in advance.

The theme for this year’s Conference ‘Ireland - Leading the way in global food security’ will address the global challenges of food security and Irelands role in delivering the solutions. The conference will be held at Rochestown Park Hotel, Cork on Thursday 4th September 2025.
