SETU Bursary

SETU Bursary

The Agricultural Science Association (ASA) has teamed up with the Irish Farmers Journal, Tirlán and Seedtech to provide a €1,000 bursary to a stage three BSc (Hons) Ag Science student and to a stage two BSc Agriculture student to support travel and other costs associated with overseas placement. Students who decide to complete part or all of their Farm Placement overseas are eligible to apply. The successful candidate will be awarded 75% of their scholarship prior to commencing their placement and 25% following completion of their placement and review.

The Farm Placement is designed to give Level 8 BSc (Hons) in Agricultural Science and Level 7 BSc in Agriculture students experience of practical farming on a high-quality farm. The placement is co-ordinated by Teagasc and the student will gain a wide experience as possible of a variety of farm enterprises.

The opportunity to travel abroad to complete Farm Placement has become a very popular choice among students. Travelling overseas provides students with an opportunity to expand their technical and professional development whilst working in a completely different environment and culture, thereby enhancing their CV.
